Mythic Map Pack Part 2
The Mythic map pack was divided into two separate packs. The second pack will be inlcuded on Halo 3: Mythic, the multiplayer disc included with "Halo 3: ODST", which will be released on September 22, 2009. The second part includes the maps Longshore (Level), Heretic (Level) and Citadel (Level).
Longshore
![]()
Longshore is a human-based map set in a naval shipping yard. Designed with elevated catwalks, multiple entrances and exits and based on an industrial building design, Longshore will serve more as a big team or large combat map though, still capable of providing fun small-scale incursions.
This map contains a hidden skull. Locating the skull earns the player the Longshore Skull Achievement.[2] The crest of this skull appears to be a harpooned fish.
Heretic
![]()
Heretic is the long-rumored Halo 3 remake of Midship. The map applies most of Midship's geometry and tactics to Halo 3 gameplay with minor tweaks. Expect this map to take place on Pious Inquisitor with the same close-quarters action seen in Halo 2.
On Heretic, there are two achievements available to get. The first being the hidden skull which will award you 25 Gamerscore and the second being Blades of Fury - Get a Sword Spree on Heretic (Ranked or Social) will also award you 25 Gamerscore.
Citadel
![]()
- "In the heart of this Forerunner structure, far above the troubled surface of the Ark, another battle rages."
- —Bungie
Citadel is an upcoming Halo 3 map that will be shipped on September 22nd, 2009 with Halo 3: ODST, as a part of the Mythic Map Pack. The Shotgun Spree achievement is attainable on this map. The map is a section of the structure first seen in the Halo 3 Multiplayer map Epitaph [1], which is a Forerunner "cathedral" that towers over the Ark.
This map has a Skull for the Multiplayer Achievements. When found, it unlocks the achievement Citadel Skull, which is depicted by the skull and a Forerunner glyph on the forehead. Another achievement for Citadel is Pull, given to the player for getting a shotgun spree on the map, worth an overall 25 Gamerscore. It has been confirmed this map takes place in the same Forerunner structure as Epitaph. The map was first designed to be much bigger and originally had an elevator for each team, though these features have been removed for undisclosed reasons.
Citadel is yet another small symmetrical map. This map is completely new to the Halo multi-player realm and takes place in a Forerunner stronghold.
